How much is JobSeeker Payment from March 2026?

From 20 March 2026, JobSeeker Payment (including Energy Supplement) is $795.20/fortnight for a single with no children, $850.60/fortnight for a single principal carer, and $725.30/fortnight each for partnered recipients. If you are 55 or older and have been on payment 9+ months, the single rate lifts to $853.60/fortnight. Income test: you can earn $150/fortnight before your payment reduces; earnings $150-$256/ft cut it by 50c/$1, above $256/ft by 60c/$1. Source: Services Australia.

Worked example. Single, under 55, no children, earning $300/fortnight part-time. Income-test reduction: ($256 − $150) × 50% + ($300 − $256) × 60% = $53 + $26.40 = $79.40. JobSeeker drops from $795.20 to $715.80/fortnight. Combined with $300 earnings = $1,015.80/ft. Commonwealth Rent Assistance and Health Care Card also typically available.
